Dawoodi Bohras Meet the Prime Minister of Pakistan

A delegation from the Dawoodi Bohra community met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on 5th December 2022

A delegation of the Dawoodi Bohra community in Pakistan had the honour of meeting the Prime Minister His Excellency Mr Shehbaz Sharif on Monday, 5th December 2022 at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad. 

The Prime Minister was informed about the on-going projects undertaken by the Dawoodi Bohra community, including the Saifee Hospital cardiac wing, University of Karachi’s Faculty of Law, and the state-of-the-art sports facility known as al Nadi al Burhani. A short report regarding the flood relief program under the banner of Project Rise was presented as well. The Prime minister lauded the community’s efforts and also praised their focus on renewable energy by maintaining solar panels at every community institution

During the interaction, the Prime Minister said that promotion of the principles of religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence are essential for the development of Pakistan. He appreciated the role of the Bohra community for promoting religious harmony in Pakistan and contributing to the socio-economic development of the country. The Prime Minister also noted that the Dawoodi Bohras are a peaceful community and their devotion to various philanthropic endeavours is impressive.

The delegation invited the Prime Minister to visit Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, the community’s premier educational institution whose branch is located in Karachi.  The Prime Minister expressed his desire to visit the institute in the future.
