BURHANI LEISURE PARK – KARACHI, PAKISTAN

Syedna Mufaddal SaifuddinTUS inaugurated the Dawoodi Bohra community’s first dedicated family fun park when he opened Karachi’s ‘Burhani Leisure Park’ on Tuesday 8th September 2015

The idea of a leisure park was first conceived two and a half years ago when Syedna noted, during a visit to the city, that there was a dearth of leisure facilities for the community to use. Thus the seeds were sown for the now fully functioning water park that is the Burhani Leisure Par

The park spans 7 acres and when fully completed will cover 10 acres. It is conveniently located around 45 minutes from the city centre and currently has 4 major slides and 6 more for younger children on the kid’s playhouse. There is also a tidal river and a tsunami wave pool – only the second of its kind outside of China – with waves up to 3 metres high.

A full size ‘safina’ boat houses a museum area which is slated to have mementoes of the late Syedna Burhanuddin RA. It also has a coffee shop and a restaurant.

The Burhani Leisure Park is currently taking school parties during the weekdays and is open to members of the community at weekends. Plans to allow it to be open to the wider public are being implemented.
